I didn't catch onto this myself. But I read on lostpedia.com that when Jin and Sun were held at customs in LA, the officer addresses Sun as Ms. Paik (not Mrs. Kwon). Does that mean in this alternate reality Jin and Sun are not husband and wife, but instead businessman and the boss's daughter? How does the knowledge of this possibility affect our perception of their interactions on the plane? And do you think Sun really can't speak English in this reality or is she lying?
Yeah, they aren't married in sideways land. She wasn't wearing a ring either.

ReplyDeleteYes! Wasn't she originally supposed to marry that guy with the shaved head and they didn't really like the idea of having an arranged marriage, so they ended it after the first date. He was the one who taught her English and they had an affair. Sun was afraid he was the father of Ji Yeon. Perhaps in this reality she's married to that bald guy and he never taught her English. Maybe she's not wearing a wedding ring because she's running away WITH Jin and he doesn't want anyone to be suspicious which is why he tells her to button up.
